The Bobby Blackwolf Show Episode 293: May 22, 2011
Patent Trolls vs. iOS Developers, 3DS Terms of Service Worries
In terms of topics covered, this is probably one of the most serious and important episodes we have done in quite some time. We don't talk that much about games, but more about what's going on under the hood.
- We begin by talking about how the patent holding company Lodsys is sending legal notices to small independent iOS developers for including technology that Apple requires for in-app purchases. They only want 0.575% of ALL revenue generated via in-app purchases since 2009, is that so wrong?
- The Nintendo 3DS Terms of Service has several paragraphs that are troubling if they are used in the absolute worst way...And you won't believe what the privacy policy states that children should NOT do with the device!
- Then we take calls all about LA Noire - why some people hate it, asking if people will hate Rockstar for it not being GTA 1946, and why Bobby might like it.

One thing I forgot to bring up was Rockstar made Manhunt. That was more of a linear story driven game even tho it was bashed hard(pun intended) by the critics.
