- At Quakecon 2005, John Carmack annonced that id Software would release the source code to Quake III Arena under the GPL.
- The BBC reports that parents ignore game age ratings.
- But, CNN reports that a murderer was convicted even though he claimed that he was inspired by Grand Theft Auto.
- And some developers are claiming that used games are worse than piracy because they take money out of the consumer's pocket that doesn't go to the developer or the publisher.
